Philippe AVENEL Mechanics (Composition in black and yellow) Oil on canvas signed lower right, with title label on back 73 x 100 cm Philippe Avenel, an accomplished visual artist, was born in Rouen in 1953. A 1979 graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, where he trained with such renowned masters as George Rohner, Fiorini and Frélaut, he began a career marked by regular exhibitions from 1976, notably in Paris with "Regards sur la Drôme". In 1982, he exhibited at Galerie ADAC, a venue that was to play a key role in his artistic career. Eleven years later, he held an acclaimed solo show at Galerie Univers-Sept in Paris, consolidating his reputation. Specializing in painting and engraving, Philippe Avenel develops a unique aesthetic in which fragmented forms and structures reflect an inner quest. His works, imbued with movement and subtlety, plunge the viewer into a universe rich in signs and colors, expressing both an intimate narrative and a flexibility with the world.
