Sancai-glazed stoneware ridge tile, three colors—green, ochre, and brown—depicting a warrior on horseback, turned to the left, making a gesture that appears to be the archer’s “getse” as he draws his bow, with the horse planted firmly on all four legs. China, Ming Dynasty, 16th–17th century. (Missing parts, including the left arm, and signs of wear) H: 38 cm - W: 27 cm Expert: Anne PAPILLON, Ansas Papillon de Léry Gallery
